Rex's Story

Meet Rex! Rex is a young dog full of love and curiosity. As a 1 year old Labrador Retriever mix, he's incredibly friendly, always ready with a wagging tail to greet everyone he meets! He recently attended our Musicians for Mutts event and did great with all of the attendees, even in a crowded environment with live music playing all day. He also does great in the car!

Rex is a delightful companion, equally happy playing fetch or cuddling up for a cozy nap. He also enjoys hanging out at our front desk and greeting adopters! Smart and loyal, he's quick to learn new tricks and eager to please. While he's not suited for a home with kids due to his energy level, he gets along wonderfully with other dogs!

Rex does have some medical issues with his back left leg due to a previous fracture, however, it isn't slowing him down and he is still able to navigate well. Our clinic staff will go over everything you need to know regarding his care.

Rex is so ready to make the leap from shelter life to forever home. Could that be with you?

At the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, our goal is to match potential adopters with a pet that is best suited to their home, interests, and lifestyle. All of our animals are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, given flea/tick prevention, and dewormer.

For more information on adopting or to fill out an application, please visit our website: https://www.swh.org/adopt.html

Anyone is welcome to visit our shelter during our adoption hours of Monday-Saturday, 12-6pm, or Sunday from 12-5pm, no appointment needed.
