Rex's Story
Meet Rex, a sweet little chihuahua mix with a gentle soul and a curious mind. Quite timid at first, he prefers to observe the world from a safe distance, taking everything in with wide, thoughtful eyes. With a little patience and yummy treats, his personality begins to shine through, leading him to cautiously explore at his own pace.

Rex came to Massachusetts from Texas as a stray in late November and is working on adjusting to the cold and snow. He’s happy to head outside to take care of business, but doesn’t linger—he much prefers returning to the safety of the indoors. Rex arrived with a collapsing trachea, a chronic cough, and a heart arrhythmia and murmur, all of which are currently managed with daily medications. He takes his meds like a champ, especially when they’re wrapped in turkey.

He currently coexists peacefully with a medium sized dog and a pleasantly plump cat. A calm, gentle, and loving environment would be ideal for this sweet little guy, one where he can feel safe, supported, and encouraged, preferably with a warm lap always nearby for snuggles. With time and gentle reassurance, Rex is sure to blossom into a deeply loving companion.

He is the sweetest and easiest low maintenance pup and guaranteed to make you laugh on a daily basis.
