Rex's Story

Rex is a 4-year-old wire-haired terrier mix who is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He's one of the resilient dogs rescued from a backyard hoarding case in California's Central Valley - and he is proving every day just how much heart he has.

Since settling into foster care, Rex has been making steady, meaningful progress. He can be a bit anxious, but he's learning that the world is safe and predictable. With a regular routine, he's adjusting well and growing more comfortable each day.

He's starting to truly enjoy his daily walks and now allows his foster family to put his collar on without much trouble - a small victory that speaks volumes. After one early accident in the house, he's been doing great with going potty outside and seems to understand that's where "business" is done (and he genuinely enjoys his outdoor time!).

Rex gets along very well with his foster sibling, Bori. He follows her around and clearly finds comfort in another confident dog, so he may thrive in a home with a balanced canine companion. He does have a bit of a competitive streak when it comes to attention and treats, so his foster family has been working with him on building trust and positive habits. With continued structure and guidance, Rex will continue to blossom.

Beneath it all, Rex is a sensitive, loyal terrier who just needed someone to show him what stability feels like. He's already come so far.

If you're patient, experienced, and ready to help a deserving dog continue his journey, Rex will reward you with deep loyalty and companionship.
