Meet Rex

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Rex, 3.5 years old, neutered male, Pitbull mix, 40 pounds. He is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State to an approved adopter. We are partnering with his rescue, Blue River Animal Rescue.

Rex was adopted as a young dog and then returned to the city shelter in Houston two years later. He had been chained outside in the adopter's yard. Unfortunately he was under socialized with other animals.

Rex is a true GEM. He has so so much love to give and loves people so much. He also gives unending and unstoppable kisses. He is very people friendly. He would need to be your only pet, but don’t let that stop you from reading further. ?

Despite Rex's past, he has shown a dog's resiliency, forgiveness and unconditional love. He was saved from the shelter’s euthanasia list, stayed in boarding for 7 months, and finally came to us in Feb 2023. In his time with us, he has met several friends of ours and stolen everyone’s heart!?

Rex knows sit and down, is doing great with “Place”. He is crate and potty trained, is very food motivated and learns quickly. He is a very happy, low-maintenance boy who enjoys some activity, as well as snoozing while we work during the day. He is fairly quiet with not a lot of barking.

He recently completed a 3 week training stay with one of our trainers and did really well. We would be happy to chat more about this and include his trainer in any conversation.

Rex is incredibly deserving of a home of his own. He is great with big and little people. He wants to shower you with love. Are you ready to give Rex a home?

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
