Rex's Story

Contact Pam 916-458-1251

Meet Rex — a big, gentle sweetheart and truly a dream dog. This medium-energy senior boy loves his people and is the definition of a perfect house guest. Rex is kind, calm, considerate, and wonderfully easy to live with. He is fully crate trained and housebroken (not a single accident!), walks politely on leash, and has excellent manners in the home.

Rex knows all the basics — sit, down, wait, stay, come/heel, and even “give” when playing fetch (which he loves!). He came to CCLRR from the Kern County Shelter and even flew on an airplane to Northern California with six other dogs, proving he does great with canine companions and new experiences.

Despite battling kennel cough, pneumonia, and multiple medications (including sub-Q fluids), Rex has kept his sparkle, wagging tail, and positive spirit. He has shown zero issues with food, toys, or loud noises — just a happy, resilient boy who’s ready for his forever home.

Rex enjoys car rides, visitors, play sessions, bird and squirrel watching, short neighborhood walks, belly rubs, couch cuddles, and lounging at your feet. He especially loves homemade roasted chicken. Rex will thrive in a loving home that includes him as part of the family — he truly is the best-est boy.

Located in Folsom, CA
