If you are interested in having one of these deserving pups become a member of your family, please click "Introduce Myself" and send us your name and email. We will get in touch with you once we know when our next group of dogs will be ready. In the meantime, please follow us on our social media pages! @happypawsrescuenj on Instagram or @happypawsrescueinc on Facebook!

Retired research beagles are generally good with cats, other dogs, and with kids. Our dogs are always spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please take a few minutes to read about retired research beagles so you can learn a little bit about these dogs http://happypawsrescue.org/?p=646

You may not know it, but you might have a BEAGLE to thank for your medicines! Beagles are used for safety testing of human and veterinary medicines for the same reasons that they make good pets; they're small and gentle-natured. Where does Happy Paws Rescue come into the picture? On a regular basis, research facilities have beagles that they release to us. It gives us and you a chance to give back to these sweet dogs that have contributed to the advancement of science.

**We generally adopt to families within a 1-hour radius of our home base in Piscataway, NJ but may consider farther distances in the tri-state region if volunteers are available. If you live beyond our geographical boundaries, we hope you will contact rescue organizations closer to your home.

Happy Paws Rescue Inc.'s Adoption Policy
1. View our adoptable animals here on Petfinder. 2. Go to happypawsrescue.org and click on the ADOPT tab. Fill out an application for the animal you are interested in. 3. Please allow a few days for us to review and respond to your application. Some animals require special considerations, such as a fenced-in yard, no small children in the home, or experienced pet owners. We use the application process to make sure the home will be a good fit for an animal. 4. Approved applicants will be invited to come meet the animal you have applied for. 5. Our volunteers will bring the animal for a visit to your home so you can see how he/she acts in your home environment, including interactions with current pets. 6. If both you and the rescue agree the animal is a good fit for your home, you will fill out an adoption contract. The adoption fee is $350 for dogs. When our animals are adopted out, they are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, on flea/tick preventative, and heartworm preventative (dogs only). 7.
