'Resa's Story
So. How did we get here from April...She had been hit by a car, not able to walk at all. With a fractured pelvis and an injured back foot, her prognosis was not so great. However slow it was, she kept surprising everyone with her progress. First standing, then taking some not-so-great steps. With that, she started to show signs of pregnancy. Long story short with that: issues arose and she had an emergency c-section with no surviving pups. In the following days, she made friends with her neighbor, Kimmie. Kimmie began to encourage her and help her with her walking. To everyone's amazement, she was up and going (at her own pace)-still a great improvement!!! The injury on her back was remarkably beginning to heal. Then, she was bitten on her 'good back foot', by what seemed to be a spider bite that grew quickly. The girl couldn't catch a break-but kept on keeping on. Her muscles have strengthened; she's taking short, easy walks and loves them. She's very affectionate and loves being with people. Understandably, she is still a bit skittish. She is looking for her forever person with a calm lifestyle and a home with no or easy-to-navigate steps/stairs. (The back foot can occasionally still 'fold' on her.) This amazing, sweet, beautiful doggy is 'Resa. That's short for Teresa-her good Samaritan. Please contact the shelter if you would like more information on adopting. See the latest on all the ODCHS pets on our Facebook page: Ozark-Dale County Humane Society
