Remington's Story
This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, or the North Central Texas area.

NAME: Remington “Remi”
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 5 years old
WEIGHT: About 8 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Yes with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (14 and older)

Introducing adorable Remington (or “Remi”). This boy is loving and loyal, and looking for his forever home.

Sadly Remington’s owner has developed dementia and is moving into an assisted health facility where they do not allow pets. One of his greatest concerns is that Remi be taken care of and rehomed to a family who will love him as much as he does. Our hearts break for this family and we are happy to help with Remi’s journey.

Remi adores his human family. Remi will follow you from room to room so he does not miss any of the fun family activities. His foster Mom works from home and he loves being the “office buddy” – relaxing in his doggy bed and offering advice on emails when needed! When you come home from errands, Remi comes running to the door to meet you – he is so excited when you get home! Remi loves being picked up and cuddled. He will lay against you on the couch as you watch TV at night. Sometimes he crawls up on the top of the couch and lays across your shoulders! He also enjoys meeting new people. Remi is very social. He will love to greet visitors in your home and welcome them to your home.

Remi gets along well with the other small dog in his foster home. He will play occasionally. But Remi is also more of a loner and we think he would be a great only dog (he was an only dog in his original home so is used to having all the attention on him!). Bonus – we know Remi gets along with cats too! Remi does not pay much attention to toys.

Remi is about 5 years old. He weighs about 8 pounds which is a good weight for him. He has a beautiful white coat with chocolate brown highlights. We love his ears. And he has the sweetest spirit.

Remi is smart. He has learned to solve “treat puzzles”. We are working with Remi on his potty habits. He is good at going potty outside when kept on a regular schedule. He also likes for you to be outside with him while he is out there. He is not a big fan of potty pads and would prefer to wait until time to go out. At night, he loves to sleep with his humans where he will burrow under the covers and sleep soundly throughout the night. Remi loves walks. When the harness and leash come out, he is ready. He walks right by your side and enjoys the daily trip around the neighborhood. Remi also LOVES car rides. He is a great traveler. And he enjoys trips to Home Depot to shop with his foster parents!

Remi’s ideal home will be one with a moderate activity level. He would be a great only dog and he loves his family so much. He would also be fine with another small dog that he could hang around with. Remi will need a family who can check on him every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works 10-12 hour days). He would be great in a home where the family is retired or works from home. Remi will alert when he hears strange noises, but he settles down fairly quickly. There are no children in his foster home, but we think he will do well in a home with older, mature children (14 and older).

We adore this little boy, and know there is a perfect family out there for him. If you love to have fun and then cuddle, Remi wants to be your BFF.

Remi is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet guy sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ Note: it works best when our application is filled out on a computer versus a phone or tablet. When the application submits correctly, the system will send you a copy. If you do not receive a copy into your email que, it did not submit. Feel free to email us at DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you need help with the application.

Remi is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300.00 adoption donation required.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
