Remi's Story
Meet Remi
· 2 to 3 years old
· Mix of Hound & German Shephard
· Around 45 lbs.
· Neutered Male

Personality & Temperament
Remi is medium-high-level energy dog as he loves to be outside to run and chase rodents and to feel the sunshine on him. After a good exercise bout, Remi is ready to cuddle with you, or he can sleep/rest on his own. He is a gentle dog and wants to be with or near his human/s as he just knows something great is going to happen soon.

His Hound-breed traits of sniffing a lot while outside and his ability to run fast for a long time make me think he could be part Greyhound, and he has meaty lean thighs showing his muscularity! Also, he’s tall and slim, with a super-soft coat that makes him wonderful to pet and cuddle up next to.

Ideal Home
Remi would do best in a home that has active members and a fenced yard. He enjoys leash-walks and just being outside so an adopter with a fenced yard or a runner or long-walker would be awesome for him.

Remi is:
Great with active and or older dogs. I don’t know how he’d do with puppies yet I’m sure he would easily match the typical puppy’s energy level!
Best suited in a house with a fenced yard and someone to let him outside every 4-5 hours or more often (or he would need to work on his crate training).
A great match for an experienced dog owner because of his leash pulling and strength and his need for more leash training.

Training & Behavior
House-trained: Yes
Crate-trained: Yes, BUT he does not like to be in his crate when his human/s are home.
Leash skills: He needs a harness as he pulls when walking yet he is being trained to not do this while in his harness (in-progress); a collar creates too much pressure on his neck, for now.
Car-rides: Ahh, this is his only downside as he gets car-sick on fast car rides and any length of winding road rides. He has done well with short (3 mile) slower rides to the nearby park.

Commands known: Sit and Speak and working on the Come command
Additional notes: I’m slowly training him not to be in the kitchen as 1) he can quietly just appear near you and it’s a bit hazardous when he does this, and 2) he has counter-surfed when tempting smells are near the counter’s edge!

Health & Care
Vaccinations: He is all up to date (Dec 2025)
Medical needs: None
Dietary needs: None and I found out that he is not a big fan of raw or cooked vegetables, yet he likes sweet potatoes, plain yogurt, and regular dog treats of all sorts.

Why You’ll Love Remi
Remi’s favorite things are being outside (even just by himself), being trained as he is food motivated, and he needs dog-toys so he can chew on them for a while and pick them up when he is excited. He would make a great companion for someone looking for running or walking partner and is also a snuggling expert.
