Meet Rei — Professional Groundhog Impersonator <br/><br/>Hi, I’m Rei! I’m a 3-year-old Pomeranian mix with short legs, lots of fluff, and a surprisingly big personality hiding behind a timid little exterior.<br/><br/>I came from a hoarding situation where I was extremely fearful of people and was once described as “feral.” But with patience, kindness, and consistency, I’m learning that humans aren’t so bad after all! Every day I’m becoming a little braver, and I’m discovering that leashes mean adventures, hands can give scratches, and having people who care about me is actually pretty wonderful.<br/><br/>I’m dog-friendly, good with cats, and have lived happily with children. I especially enjoy having other dogs around and would love a home with a confident canine companion to help me continue building my confidence.<br/><br/>I’m still a timid girl, so my future family will need to give me time, patience, and plenty of reassurance while I learn to feel safe and comfortable. I’m making great progress, but I need someone who understands that confidence doesn’t happen overnight.<br/><br/>I’m also doing great with my leash skills, enjoy affection once I’m comfortable, and have a serious case of the zoomies once I settle in! And when I really want to impress you, I sit straight up on my back legs like a little groundhog surveying her kingdom. <br/><br/>One important thing to know: I do not do well when crated and become very stressed when confined. I’m perfectly happy relaxing on the couch while my people are away, so a family who is comfortable with that arrangement would be ideal.<br/><br/>For my safety, a securely fenced yard is required.<br/><br/>I’ve come a long way from the scared little fluff nugget who wanted nothing to do with people. Now I’m walking on a leash, making friends, accepting affection, and learning to trust.<br/><br/>All I need now is someone patient enough to let me blossom—and someone willing to look at this short-legged, fluffy little weirdo and say:<br/><br/>“Yep.
