Reese’s 's Story

Reese’s is a 2-year-old Shar-Pei with all the classic charm, wrinkles, and personality the breed is known for. We rescued her on Thanksgiving from the Oakland shelter along with her daughter, Peaches, who is also available for adoption.💞🥰 Reese’s has truly bloomed in our care. Once given time to decompress and feel safe in her environment, she becomes very social and affectionate. She is dog-friendly with proper, slow introductions and enjoys playful interactions with other dogs. She has a wonderful balance of energy—she loves playtime and activity, but once exercised, she settles nicely and enjoys downtime. Reese’s would thrive in a home with an adopter who understands the Shar-Pei breed and can provide structure, patience, and continued socialization. Reese’s would prefer a home without chickens. She has seen cats on walks and shows curiosity but is easily redirected, so she may be compatible with a dog-savvy cat. She has been spayed and fully vetted. Her eyes have healed beautifully following entropion surgery, and her skin is looking so much better. Any donations are greatly appreciated to help cover her ongoing medical care. Simba's Paw Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy

Please email us a detailed message about yourself and request an application. We require an adoption application to be completely filled out that we will review and need to approve first. We will contact you via email first then a phone interview. After we will set up a meet and home check. We do not accept incomplete applications or one word responses. We expect our potential adopters to take our application seriously. We do require only home owners with a fully fenced in yard and only adopt locally in Sacramento and surrounding areas. Please be patient at it may take time to get back to emails. We are about finding the right fit for our dogs to make sure they go to committed forever homes. It’s never about first come and there is a screening process. We are also looking for fosters and volunteers to help us! It takes a team to save lives!
