Reese's Story

Meet Reese

Reese is a beautiful 3-4 year old chocolate Lab who came to us through animal control and was, unfortunately, never claimed. Because of that, we don't know much about her past - but we're getting to know who she is now.

Reese is a sweet but sensitive girl who is still learning how to navigate life with people. She can be a bit reserved at first, but like most Labs, the quickest way to her heart is through her stomach. She is very food-motivated and eager to please when there's something in it for her.

It's important to know that Reese does not take correction well and has shown that she can be mouthy at times. Because of this, she will need a calm, experienced, dog-savvy home that understands how to set clear boundaries while allowing her to build trust at her own pace. Heavy pressure or harsh handling are not a good fit for her.

Reese appears to have had puppies in the past and may not have had a strong human bond early on. She needs time, patience, and consistency to feel safe and confident. With the right home and guidance, she has the potential to form a strong and lasting bond.

Reese isn't a dog for someone looking for an instant, easy adjustment - she's a dog who needs understanding and time to heal. In the right environment, she has all the makings of a wonderful companion.

If you're an experienced adopter willing to meet her where she is, Reese could be the one you've been waiting for.
