Reeba's Story

Reeba is the kind of girl who may need a moment to decide that you’re her kind of people, but once she does, you’ll see just how sweet she really is. She can be a little timid when she first meets someone or finds herself in a new situation, but she warms up surprisingly quickly with a little patience and reassurance. Before long, she’ll be happily checking in with her person, soaking up attention, and showing you that there’s a whole lot more personality underneath that initial shyness.

And when Reeba really gets comfortable? Well, that’s when the Reeba show begins! Her goofy side comes out in the most ridiculous zoomies, silly antics, and bursts of playful energy that make it hard not to smile. She isn’t just looking for a cozy spot on the couch all day. Reeba has a fun-loving, spunky side that she’s more than happy to share once she knows she’s safe. She seems to find a little extra confidence when she has a person she can trust, and watching her go from tentative to full-on goofball is pretty darn special.

That growing confidence seems to carry over into her friendships, too. Reeba has already made some dog friends and has shown that she can enjoy having canine companions around. She’s also wonderful with kids, happily soaking up the attention and affection they have to offer. And while she may not be the first dog to introduce herself to every new face, she’s shown us that with the right introduction, she’s capable of making all kinds of friends. She even did pretty well meeting a cat, adding one more little surprise to the list of things this sweet girl is capable of!

Reeba may take a little time to settle into her new surroundings, but she has so much sweetness and personality waiting underneath that initial hesitation. Give her the chance to find her footing, earn her trust, and become comfortable in her own time, and you’ll get to know the silly, affectionate, playful girl she’s been waiting to show you all along. She’s got a little country charm, a whole lot of heart, and once she decides you’re her person, she’s ready to have some fun!

Want to give Reeba a chance? Submit your adoption application at the MAS website below to get started!

DOB: 1 / 26 / 2025

For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas.
Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info

Mackenzies Animal Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
Mackenzie’s is a N0-KILL dog Sanctuary that is dedicated to helping abused, abandoned, and neglected dogs find forever, loving homes. We help (when room is available) other shelters and rescues before they have to consider euthanizing due to medical concerns, behavioral challenges, or lack of space. As a true “home-along-the-way” we are passionate about loving, advocating for, caring for, and getting to know each individual dog for the duration of their stay with us. Our adoption goal is to match applicants with their perfect forever dog based on personality, sociability, and energy level that suits your lifestyles. Our adoption program is very thoughtful and thorough to ensure both you and your new dog have a happy and successful relationship once you go home together. Adoption Criteria: Adoption visits are by appointment only. For safety’s sake, we require a physically fenced-in area. We DO NOT do same day adoptions, at least two adoption visits are required. Adopters must be at least 21 years of age. Established home dog(s) must be up to date on vaccinations. Established home dogs(s) must have an introduction to the MAS dog(s) you’re interested in. What to Expect from Our Program: The first step in adopting your new best friend is submitting your adoption application online. BE HONEST! Our application is designed to help the adoption team learn about you, your lifestyle, and what you are looking for to best match you with the appropriate dog. You will receive an email confirmation that we have begun processing your application. Once your application is approved, we will invite you and your family to visit the sanctuary and meet with the dog(s) you are compatible with. Upon meeting and spending time with the dog(s), we will go over their notes on behavior, health, and sociability. We believe full disclosure of the information we know is key to helping you make the best decision and finding the best fit for your family. Once you have narrowed down which dog is the right fit for you, a second visit will be scheduled. After the 2nd visit, we will provide you with additional information on your new forever friend (microchip details, rabies certificate, and their medical history report). We will also send home any medication(s) your new dog is currently prescribed, including their next dose of heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We will go over your new dog’s paperwork and answer any questions before finalizing the adoption! If you already have a dog(s) at home, we require a dog introduction at the second visit to ensure your new dog is accepted into your pack before going home. We take all the dogs on a short walk before going to a quiet building together to observe their interactions. Our trained staff will discuss a plan to help the dogs integrate for the smoothest transition into living together.
