Redd's Story
NOTE: REDD IS WITH A RESCUE GROUP IN PACIFIC GROVE. GSRSV HAS NOT MET REDD. WE ARE LISTING HIM ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO.

“Redd” is a 60-lb, 2½-yo neutered male GSD mix (primarily GSD/Cattle Dog) who is affectionate, sensitive and shy.

Redd is a sensitive dog, and does best with slow introductions to new people and environments at his own pace. He is more shy around males and children so he would do best a in a household that understands his needs and his willing to take things one step at a time. However, once he’s comfortable with a person, he showers them with love, cuddles and attention.

Redd has done well with both dogs and cats, but will need to be introduced slowly to ensure both pets are comfortable.

Redd would thrive in an active home in which he gets to go hiking, running, or participate in agility activity. Redd would prefer to have someone at home with him throughout the day who is also willing to continue his training and socialization.

Pre-registration for one-on-one training and behavioral help is a requirement for Redd’s adoption. Redd will need a specific adopter who is experienced and willing to work with a dog who is shy and fearful. He is sensitive and really needs help with his confidence.

Redd was rescued by Animal Friends Rescue Project in Pacific Grove from the Salinas County
(“Hitchcock Rd”) Animal Shelter.
