Red's Story

Red has been waiting for his person, and he’s finally ready to find them. At around two to three years old, this gentle mixed-breed boy is learning what it means to feel safe — and once he does, his loyalty is absolute. He may be a little shy at first, but the moment Red decides you’re trustworthy, you’re chosen for life. From then on, he becomes your quiet shadow, always nearby and always content just being close.

Red is neutered, fully vaccinated, and wonderfully polite. He’s dog-friendly and approaches other dogs with shy curiosity and good manners. While he hasn’t spent much time around kids yet, he’s likely to enjoy them once he has the chance to warm up. He hasn’t lived with cats, but at the vet he showed happy, gentle curiosity, suggesting he could do well with proper introductions.

He has a lovely medium energy level — happy bursts of playful zoomies balanced perfectly with top-tier couch potato skills. Red enjoys Kongs and enrichment time, walks beautifully on leash, and is fully potty trained. He’s still building confidence with alone time and isn’t a fan of the crate, but he’s making steady progress and trying his very best every day. He’s also still learning basic commands, and his eagerness to please makes him a joy to work with.

Red would thrive in a calm, stable home with patient, kind humans who understand shy dogs and appreciate a constant companion. Someone who’s around often and enjoys a dog who believes cuddling is not just a hobby, but a full personality trait, would be his perfect match.

Red isn’t searching for perfection — he’s searching for connection. A soft place to land, a predictable routine, and people who will love him exactly as he is: gentle, loyal, and always right by your side.

Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.

APPLY on our WEBSITE:
Rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt
Rebeldogsdetroit.com/becomeafoster
