Red's Story

Eight-year-old Red joined the HBHR family after being rescued from a shelter in Alvin, and he has absolutely thrived in his loving foster home. His calm, friendly personality has blossomed, and he adores the attention he receives from both his foster beagle brothers and his foster parents.
Red spends most of his days rotating between his favorite napping spots—the couch, the back porch, and a shady spot in the grass. He enjoys walks and has great leash manners, and hes had very few accidents in the house. While hes a champion napper, Red also has a playful side. He loves challenging his foster brothers to wrestling matches and keeps everyone entertained with his goofy moves. He does have a bit of a mischievous streak, so hed do best with another canine companion to help keep him engaged. His gentle, easygoing nature makes him an excellent candidate for a family dog. Red loves chew toys and has shown no signs of destructive behavior or resource guarding.
Red has a signature bay but hes far from overly vocal. He usually saves his barking for when his foster parents arrive home. He loves being held, cuddled, and curling up on the couch for a good snuggle.
Red has also proven himself to be quite the determined digger, so hell need a securely fenced yard. Hes had very little unsupervised time outside because hes convinced hed like to visit the friendly Labrador next door—by tunneling under the fence! Aside from his escape plans, Red has been a loyal and mellow companion.
Red embodies everything people love about beagles-hes friendly, playful, affectionate, and just mischievous enough to keep life interesting. Hes healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever family. Apply today to meet this sweet boy!
