Rebel's Story
Rebel is a well-loved young (approximately a year old) shepherd mix who sadly could no longer stay with her family. She joined her family about four months ago when she wandered onto their property as a stray. When all attempts to locate her original owners failed, they decided to keep her. Unfortunately, they recently learned that one of their children is allergic to dogs and have had to make the difficult decision to rehome Rebel. She has been well-cared for, spayed, and kept up to date on her vaccines and preventatives.

Rebel will make a wonderful family dog. She thoroughly enjoyed going to ball games with her human siblings and is also just as happy to be at home playing games of fetch in the backyard. Once she has exercised for about 45 minutes, she is perfectly happy settling in for a nice long nap. Rebel is a smart girl and already knows some basic commands such as sit and down, and while she understands the word “stay”, she has trouble with it, especially when there are distractions around. This is part of her adolescence shining through and will likely improve with consistent training. She is housebroken, walks on a leash, and rides well in cars. We do not know how she will be with cats as she has not lived with one. However, while on a leash, she saw a cat and did not try to chase it.

Rebel loves everyone she meets, whether it be humans or dogs. She has lived in a home with school-age children ranging in age from 5 to 8. Because she is still rather young and needs to learn to keep all four paws on the floor when excited, she could knock younger children over. Therefore, we recommend she be in a home with school-age children and/or an adult-only home. She is young and still quite active. If you are a person who enjoys the outdoors, Rebel would make your perfect hiking companion.

Rebel is a beautiful girl inside and out.
