Rebel's Story

When you are inside the house and you see a friend outside the house, what do you do? Of course, you open the door so you can meet and greet your friend or maybe play for a while. Khari may be a dog and she may not have opposable thumbs but that doesn't stop her from opening a door, any door, when she wants to be with her human! Khari is living in a foster home these days and her foster mom told us that she can be out of her crate so long as there is a lock on the front door that she cannot open. How does she know this? When her foster mom was recently outside, Khari opened and door and went looking for her! When her foster mom is in the house, Khari has no interest in the door.

What else do we know about Khari? She is housebroken, crate trained, and loves a Nylabone or two. She walks nicely on a leash. In fact, going on a walk is one of her favorite things to do. But so is cuddling! In her foster home, she lives with another foster German Shepherd and they have a fun time playing together. She'd probably like to be in a forever home with another dog. Khari is relatively calm and rides well in a car. As for people, she is very sweet with new people if properly introduced. She is a sensitive girl and doesn't like loud voices so she probably would like any children in her home to be calm kids. Finally, her foster mom says, "Khari just loves to be right with her person and loves praise. She is very smart and wants to please."

Please visit www.coastalgsr.org to learn more about our dogs.
