Rayna's Story
Rayna is a two-year-old female dog. We think she could be a cattle dog/rat terrier mix. She is about 40
pounds but could stand to lose a few of those. Rayna is very smart and has been quick to learn new skills.
She’s already shown some interest in agility and has some serious rodent-hunting instincts. While
walking in a field near the shelter Rayna sized up a culvert and immediately began widening the opening
so that she could crawl in and get whatever was in there! There is a rat-hunting competition called Barn
Hunt and we think Rayna would be a natural for that.

She is a little opinionated about other dogs,
despite originally coming in with one. We have been working with her to learn to notice other dogs but
not need to bark at them. She has been a quick learner and should be able to continue these lessons
with a new handler. For now, Rayna would probably do best in a single dog home while she works on
her responses. Rayna loves treats and praise and rewards her friends with happy wiggles and a good Sit.
She does love a good belly rub too!
