Rayas's Story

This dog represents his name well; both because of his markings as well as the Mexican saying “otra raya mas al tigre” which translates as “another stripe in the tiger”. A very common story….. one more dog in the streets, wandering around by himself, looking for food and water around trash and dangerously crossing streets, disoriented. People don’t know how he got to the neighborhood, but he was not from there and they feared he would get hit by a car not being familiar with the streets, so they took him into their home and worked on a plan. They did what they could to get him healthy and to keep him safe. They reached out looking for help to find him a forever home and that is how Rayas became a MexPup. He has been through the full health protocol, is healthy and is now ready to find his forever home.
Rayas is a handsome mixed breed bully male; he is estimated to be between 1.5 to 2 years old and weighs approximately 25 kilos. Rayas is a social dog that likes to meet people. He does well with humans of all sizes and with visitors. Rayas loves his daily walks and has no negative reaction when he sees other loose dogs on the street. However, he is protective of his food. Feeding him separately solves the issue. He shares toys and likes to play with other dogs, but when bedtime comes, he will growl if other dogs try to lay on his bed (reminds me of someone I know ?).
Rayas does well with medium and smaller sized dogs, but he is an alpha, so is selective with some large dogs (if he feels threatened by them) and he isn’t a fan of cats.
He isn’t bothered by loud noises and wants to please. Rayas has a lot of strength and would excel with an active and energetic family that takes him out on adventures. He loves running, exploring, digging holes, playing with toys and playing with other dogs. Rayas is ready for a home where he will be part of a family, so please share his album so they know that he is looking for them.

The adoption fee for Rayas is $500 and includes flight, neuter, vaccines, and full vetting. He can be on a flight, if a foster or adoptive home is found. If you are ready for Rayas to join your family, please submit an application at mexpup.com or, if you have any questions or need more information you can email cass@mexpup.com.
