Raya's Story

Say hello to your new shadow! Princess Raya was scheduled to be put down due to overcrowding until BARC found out she really is ROYALTY!
Princess is a total sweetheart - hence why we kept her shelter name so far, it suits her! She has a total obsession with squeaky toys, even though she isn’t the best at squeaking them (lucky us!) but as soon as she knows a toy is capable of making noise, she gets so excited that she whimpers while doing zoomies around the house. Princess is 100% potty trained, and will even let you know when she needs to go outside off-schedule. She walks well on a leash after she has pottied. She is AWESOME with other dogs, and is totally submissive with more dominant dogs (she’s not a fighter!) She does not do well with cats, and has done well with all children she’s greeted! She hasn’t had play time with children yet, and foster mom doesn’t believe children would be an issue- just doesn’t have any of her own. Princess is currently trained to stay in the kennel during work hours and wouldn’t mind waiting until you get home from work for play time. She would make a great addition to anyone’s home as she enjoys attention and play time but is not overwhelming or rambunctious.

Princess Raya is a sweet girl who was scheduled to be euthanized in January but foster mom couldn’t resist those eyes. When brought to the shelter, Princess was recovering from a recent litter, likely not her first, as well as some scratches from being attacked by another dog. A week after arriving in her foster home, her elbow became infected, but it was nothing a round of antibiotics couldn’t kill! After some time and TLC Princess is completely healed and eager to get a second chance at life!

She is fixed, HW-, dewormed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and has no known outstanding health issues. All this girl needs from you is love, a comfy place to stay, and an occasional vet visit once a year! She will offer you so much more in return. Give her a shot!
