Ray's Story
I'm Ray, and while I may not see the world like you do, I experience it in my own incredible way-with my nose, my ears, and most of all, my heart.

Yep, I'm completely blind. Not "can't-see-great" blind-but "blind-as-a-bat" blind. But you know what? That doesn't slow me down one bit. I've learned to map out my space, follow gentle voices, and stroll along happily on leash with a little guidance. I've even figured out how to find the best sunny spots in the yard for my afternoon naps (it's a skill, really). When I bump into things, I just shake it off and keep going. "What'd I Say?" Life's too short to sweat the small stuff.

Now, let me tell you a little about my life before I got here to Happy Bark. I'm a 9-year-old Carolina Dog mix (mutt-urity at its finest) with a heart as golden as my fur. I spent my whole life outside, tethered to a dog box at the back of a yard-rain, snow, and everything in between. When an ice storm broke my cable, I wandered off, disoriented and alone. But that little twist of fate brought me here, to a second chance. I've been neutered, vaccinated, and completed treatment for heartworms. My eyes may not show me what's out there, but I've never seen more clearly what really matters-love, comfort, and a family of my own.

Since moving into a foster home, I've thrived. For the first time, I'm living indoors and learning what it's like to be part of a real family. I navigate the house and yard like a pro, once I get the lay of the land. I even figured out how to hop up into the bed-trust me, that's a whole new level of cozy I didn't know I was missing. "Hit the Road Jack"? More like "Hit the Bed, Ray!" And don't worry-I may not see other dogs coming, but I've learned how to communicate with them just fine. I do best with chill canine companions who can help guide me a bit. I love walks, belly rubs, kind voices, and gentle routines.

I may be blind, but I see and "I believe with my soul" -and it's telling me my forever home is out there, just waiting for a dog like me. A home with a soft bed, patience, and kindness is my heart's desire. If you're looking for a dog who won't let anything hold him back, who meets each day with courage, sweetness, and a wagging tail-well, friend, I'm Ray. And I'd love to "Unchain My Heart" and find my way to you.

Ray's adoption fee is $125.
