Ray's Story

Meet Ray, a sweet, laid-back gentleman who's ready to bring a whole lot of joy to your life! This little guy has earned the nickname "Sweet Baby Ray" for good reason-he's as sweet as they come, with a calm and steady personality that makes for an excellent companion.

Ray is a bit of a shy guy at first, and can take his time warming up to new people and situations. But once he's comfortable, his true, spunky self shines through, and you'll be treated to his signature happy stomps and circles when you come home. He's also got a quirky little habit of letting out excited grunts, which reminds his foster of a little horse-a hilarious touch to his already charming personality!

Although Ray is more of a quiet observer who isn't overly cuddly, he absolutely loves to be close to his people-whether it's resting his chin on your leg or simply hanging out on the couch beside you. Ray isn't a lap dog, but his gentle presence is enough to melt your heart. He's also house-trained, and he uses pee pads in his foster home, so he's ready to settle into a calm, comfy, cozy routine.

This guy has a soft spot for treats (especially when they come from a snuffle ball!) and is food-motivated, so you can be sure he'll do his best to win your heart (and snacks!) with his adorable charm. While Ray isn't a toy guy, he's more about the simple joys in life-like a relaxing walk where he'll show off his prance when he's feeling good.

Ray also recently had several teeth removed to help him feel as comfortable as possible. He is also on a daily medication to help keep his heart healthy. His adopter should plan to maintain a relationship with a full-service vet to keep him in tip-top shape for the remainder of his golden years.

Looking for a loyal sidekick? Let Sweet Baby Ray bring some extra joy to your life, and he'd love to stick by your side!

------------------------------------

This dog is considered a mixed breed because it's not accurate to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label.

------------------------------------

This dog is currently located in a PAWS foster home. In order to meet with any dogs in foster care, you will need to have a fully processed and approved application first. To get the adoption process started, please complete the adoption application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.

If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-298-9680 ext. 16.

Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, 2900 Grays Ferry Ave, Phila, PA 19146 (by appointment only).
