Raven's Story

NOTE: All adoptions are only in the greater Houston, TX area.

Please Note: WE ARE NOT A SHELTER- ALL DANES ARE IN FOSTER HOMES

MEET RAVEN! Raven is an 18-month-old lab mix who has already overcome so much in her young life. She never received the socialization she needed as a puppy, but with patience, training, and lots of love, she has made incredible progress.

Raven has learned that the world isn’t such a scary place, but she still needs a foster or adoptive home that will continue her slow and steady journey. She is a superstar in her crate, walks much more politely on leash, and thrives in environments where she feels safe and secure.

This sweet girl loves the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with canine friends to play with. She will need a kid-free home, and introductions to new people or situations should be done at her pace. While men can still make her a little nervous, she has learned to simply ignore them. Raven also shines at doggy daycare, where she enjoys time with her trusted caregivers.

GDRST has invested a great deal of time, energy, and love to help Raven get to where she is today, and we know the right home will help her blossom even more.

Raven is spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and weighs about 75 pounds.

If you can offer Raven the patience, love, and guidance she deserves, please reach out to us at foster@saveadane.org
.
Won’t you help give this special girl her happily-ever-after?

ADOPTION CONTRIBUTION FEE: $200.00

In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to help offset medical expenses.
To do so, please visit our website at www.saveadane.org

GDRST will have the following services completed as part of the adoption process. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microchipped and monthly heartworm preventative

Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in, please complete our online application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you.

Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas
16516 El Camino Real #402
Houston, TX 77062-5723

Information E-mail: info@saveadane.org

Adoption E-mail: adoption@saveadane.org

Website www.saveadane.org

Connecting Great Danes to Great People

Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas

Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas's Adoption Policy
Adoptions are not on a first come, first served basis, but rather we make every attempt to match families with the most compatible dog. We reserve the right to deny any application. Do research on this breed. Please allow 7 – 10 days to process your application. We will follow up with an email/phone call with status. Vet references will be checked prior to viewing available Danes. A home evaluation will be scheduled and conducted Upon completion of steps 1 – 5 and approval from our board, we will work to find matches for you. If we determine that there are currently no suitable Danes for you, please be patient. You will be placed on a waiting list and contacted when a match is available. Once you have visited with a potential match, you need to notify us of your intent to adopt or not adopt within 24 hours by email or phone. Before adopting, an adoption fee must be paid. This goes toward medical care, supplies & food. This is not the end of the process. We will follow up on the placement in future months.
