Raven's Story

Meet Raven 🖤

After raising her babies and all of her puppies being locally adopted, it is now this sweet mama turn in hoping to find the family she’s been waiting for.

Raven is a gorgeous, approximately 2-year-old, 40lb lab mix who had a very rough start to life. She spent much of her early life tied up with minimal human contact and was pulled from a rural upstate shelter while pregnant.

Despite her past, Raven has the gentlest soul. She was initially shy with people, but now falls in love quickly and is happiest when she realizes someone wants to pet her. She loves soft beds and couches, snuggling, and spending time with her humans. She does great both alone and with other dogs, isn’t destructive, and settles nicely in the home. She prefers to eat in peace and usually waits until she’s alone, so her foster feeds her in a separate room, there is no food guarding, just a polite girl who likes quiet mealtimes.

Raven has enjoyed living with her foster dog siblings and continues to gain confidence every day. With her background, she’ll thrive with a patient family willing to help her continue building trust and confidence through slow, positive introductions to new people, dogs, and experiences.

Raven is heartworm positive, but treatment will be fully covered by the rescue. She also has an old break in her left front elbow that can’t be surgically repaired, but it doesn’t cause her pain and she’ll always have a slight limp, but it doesn’t slow her down or stop her from enjoying life.

If you think you could be the loving home this incredibly deserving girl has been waiting for, please reach out. Raven is more than ready to be someone’s cherished companion. 🖤🐶

MORE INFO:
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, or scheduled to be if they arrived in our care too young. Each dog has been seen by our veterinarian and treated for likely the following (all various): Age appropriate vaccines, overall health exam and other alignments as they come up. All dogs are dewormed, given core vaccines (Bordetella, DHPP (3 of them if a puppy) and Rabies as well as all are microchipped and on a monthly preventative for flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

All of our animals are placed into foster homes so they thrive and the transition is easier.

If interested in learning more or meeting this pup, please fill out our adoption application.
The application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/JHRA/Dog

Journey Home Rescue Alliance | Apply for Adoption
