Raven's Story
Meet Raven 🖤

Raven is a beautiful Black Lab mix, approximately 2 years old and around 45 lbs. Her life before rescue was not an easy one. She spent much of it tied outside with little to no human interaction. Pregnant and alone, Raven was pulled from a rural upstate shelter just in time and gave birth to eight puppies the very next day under the care of Journey Home Rescue Alliance.

Raven has been an incredible and devoted mother. Because of her deep bond with her puppies and her lack of early socialization, she can be protective when with her babies. Away from them, Raven is much more relaxed and allows gentle approach and pets. In just three weeks with her foster, she has begun seeking out affection and comfort likely some of the first kindness she's ever known.

Raven doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She is a sensitive, sweet-souled dog who simply needs time, patience, and consistency to build trust. With continued positive interactions, her confidence continues to grow each day.

Raven is house-mannered in that she keeps a clean space and lets her people know when she needs to go outside. She has never experienced the comforts of a home, toys, dog beds, couches, or regular affection but it’s clear she longs for them and will blossom at her own pace in a calm, nurturing environment.

She is currently in a foster home and learning what is is like to be a loved dog. She is looking for her own family now that can continue to show her what it is like to be cherished.

MORE INFO:
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, or scheduled to be if they arrived in our care too young. Each dog has been seen by our veterinarian and treated for likely the following (all various): Age appropriate vaccines, overall health exam and other alignments as they come up. All dogs are dewormed, given core vaccines (Bordetella, DHPP (3 of them if a puppy) and Rabies as well as all are microchipped and on a monthly preventative for flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

All of our animals are placed into foster homes so they thrive and the transition is easier.

If interested in learning more or meeting this pup, please fill out our adoption application.
The application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/JHRA/Dog

Journey Home Rescue Alliance | Apply for Adoption
