Once you're his person, he wants to be right there with you-on the couch, in your lap, or curled up close. He's affectionate, snuggly, and thrives on connection with his humans.<br/><br/>He's also:<br/> Potty trained<br/> Crate trained<br/> Sleeps through the night<br/> Knows commands<br/> Polite and well-mannered in the home<br/><br/> Important Things to Know About Rascal<br/><br/>Rascal is a true terrier, and his instincts run strong. Patterdale Terriers were bred as working dogs to hunt foxes and other small animals, and Rascal is very much hardwired with that drive.<br/><br/>Because of this:<br/> Not good with cats or small animals (high prey drive)<br/> Not ideal with other dogs and would do best as an only dog<br/> No young children - adults only, or possibly older teens<br/><br/>Rascal also resource guards items he finds valuable and can become nippy if those items are taken away, so he needs an experienced, dog-savvy home that understands boundaries and management.<br/><br/> Rascal's Ideal Home<br/><br/>Rascal will thrive with:<br/> An adult-only home<br/> A yard or active lifestyle - Rascal could live in certain apartment set ups as long as the adopter is dedicated to adequate exercise and mental stimulation.
