Rango's Story

Rango is a five‐month‐old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) with a gentle soul wrapped in a puppy body. Naturally a bit shy at first, he warms up quickly and becomes deeply affectionate with the people he trusts. He already crates beautifully, is mostly house trained, and is food motivated--making him an eager student. Though he still needs to be introduced to leash walking, Rango's foster notes he learns quickly and is the kind of pup who tries hard to get things right.

Playful yet remarkably calm for his age, Rango enjoys the company of other dogs and seems tolerant of cats. He's the kind of puppy who takes cues well, waits patiently for treats, and adjusts easily to the energy around him. He does well with kids and loves people, but without the over‐the‐top bounce often seen in young herding breeds. His foster mom lovingly describes him as an old soul in a puppy's body, and it shows in his gentle demeanor and thoughtful way of moving through the world.

Rango will thrive with a family willing to continue his training so he can grow into the confident, well‐rounded dog he's meant to be. His intelligence and laid‐back nature make him a wonderful fit for households looking for a smart young dog who isn't overwhelming. With a bit of guidance, Rango has all the makings of a loyal, steady companion ready to grow alongside the people who choose him. He's a special pup with a bright future, just waiting for the right.

Interested in Rango? Consider filling out an adoption application at www.shelter2rescue.org.
