Ralphie's Story

Meet Ralphie, the star of your Christmas Story!

Male | 15lbs (expected weight ~ 45lbs) | 4 months old | Good with Dogs and Kids | UTD on shots

Background

Ralphie was rescued with help from our partners in Antigua, he took his freedom flight at the end of November and has settled so well into his foster home in Toronto and is ready to find his furever family!

Personality

Ralphie is a social, sweet, and silly Caribbean pup who loves everyone he meets—kids, adults, and other dogs. He has a moderate energy level, enjoying morning bursts of play before settling into a calm, easygoing rhythm. Curious and adventurous outdoors but relaxed and content in his crate, Ralphie is the perfect blend of fun, friendly, and laid-back.

Ideal Home

Ralphie would thrive in almost any environment—rural, suburban, or urban—as long as he gets daily exercise and playtime. Because he struggles with separation anxiety, he’ll need an adopter who can work patiently on alone-time training and provide plenty of companionship. A home with space to play (or access to a park) would be a bonus, and he’s a great fit for families, first-time dog owners, or households with children.

Training & Activity

Ralphie is a smart puppy who is already house-trained and knows sit, paw, other paw, and stay. He walks well on leash with only occasional pulling and has a good recall, especially for treats. He enjoys 30–60 minutes of daily exercise through walks and independent toy play. Ralphie sleeps through the night in his crate and settles well there, but he will need ongoing training and support for his separation anxiety, as he becomes distressed when left alone.

Summary

Ralphie is an energetic boy with a heart of gold! He loves his family hard and is looking for a home that will give him all the love, snuggles and structure he craves!

NOTE: All adoption applicants must be residents of Ontario, Canada to be considered.

Ready to give Rosie the forever home she deserves and a second chance at happiness?

Apply now: http://seapawsrescue.org/adoptionApplication.html

Sea Paws Rescue's Adoption Policy
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. All adult members of the household must attend the adoption interview. We prefer that applicants have lived at their current address for at least three months. This is to make sure that owners have had time to settle into their new surroundings, and provides stability for the new pup who themselves have already undergone multiple changes in a short time. Because young puppies require intensive training and care, we do not place puppies younger than 8 weeks of age in a home. Because of potential behavior/training concerns, we are very cautious when placing young pets in homes with children under the age of five. If applicants have another animal at home, they must introduce the animals properly. We want to make sure that their animal is happy with their selection and that the transition for both animals' will be relatively smooth. All adopters must take the animal to a veterinarian within one week of adoption as Sea Paws Rescue (SPR) does not screen for all diseases including, but not limited to, tick fever and heartworm. All further examinations and immunizations from the date of the adoption are at the adopter’s own expense. SPR makes no health guarantees or warranties. All adopters must understand that there will be an adjustment period and their pet may experience behavioural and/or health issues related to the change in environment. Adopters must seek professional assistance from a trainer and/or licensed veterinarian if they have concerns about issues related to the adjustment period. If at any time, for any reason, a SPR adopter decides not to keep their animal, they agree to return the animal back to a Sea Paws Rescue representative. Under no circumstance will the adopter surrender a SPR animal to a local shelter. In the event of a rehoming, no part of the adoption fee will be reimbursed.
