Ralphie!!'s Story

Meet Ralphie!

Ralphie is 2 years old. He is a happy boy who is full of energy!

Ralphie is fully crate trained and potty trained. He is very quiet and well-behaved when crated, and in general is not a talker or barker aside from the occasional quick 'alarm' notification for a knock at the door or unexpected loud noise.

Ralphie has previously lived in a foster home with other dogs. He prefers female dog friends over males, and would do best with larger dogs due to his energy level and play style, though he would also be perfectly happy and thrive as the only dog in a home! He loves to play and will entertain himself by tossing a toy or ball in the air to fetch.

Ralphie is best suited to a home with older children - he has spent time with the elementary aged set 7+ and done well, though he has a tendency to become extra excited when play gets overly animated or loud and can forget his size, so would do best in a home without toddlers or very young kids. He prefers a feline-free home as he struggles to comprehend that cats really aren't for chasing.

Ralphie is very food motivated and eager to please, which will help make his continued training so much easier! He is still young and a motivated learner, and will greatly benefit from humans who are willing to set and enforce consistent boundaries end expectations for him. He may not be a huge snuggler at first but loves to be in the same space as people, and once he settles in and becomes comfortable with someone his cuddly lover boy side really starts to shine.

Interested in meeting Ralphie, or want to learn more? Resilient Dog Rescue 's Adoption Policy
Our multi-step adoption process includes an application, meet and greet, animal introductions when applicable, and a home check. We highly value the time and effort put into adoption applications, and encourage thorough, thoughtful responses as this is our primary avenue for getting to know your family. With that in mind, please be aware that applications with excessive blank or one-word responses may not be considered. Animal introductions will be done for each pet currently living in the household. While we are not here to judge your lifestyles, we also conduct home checks to ensure that the household and backyard will be a safe living environment for a SacRDR dog. The Declaration page of your Homeowners Insurance policy or an approval letter from your landlord must be submitted with your adoption application; these documents are required to ensure that your HOI or landlord covers/accepts the breed you are applying to adopt. If you have any additional questions, please email adopt@sacrdr.org.
