Ralph's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ralph came to the shelter as an owner surrender on 10/22/2026. His owners had to move into a rental that did not allow pets. Ralph is a big boy who weighs around 70 pounds and only turned a year old in July. He has the coloring of a red heeler (cattle dog) but otherwise reminds us of shepherd breeds, like German or Anatolian. There are probably some other breeds in there, too. He is tentatively scheduled to be vet checked and neutered on November 13th, and his fee is $150.

Ralph is a very sensitive, loving dog. He needs a home that is able to provide him with the exercise he needs. He has had some basic training and is intelligent and ready for more. Ralph has done well with kids and has been okay with other dogs. He has never been around cats. He would be a great companion for someone who is active and looking for a true partner.

NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
