Raja 2's Story

Queen Raja is one of a kind!

Hello loyal subjects! I'm Raja. My name may sound like Indian royalty (and trust me, I love being spoiled) but I'm the sweetest, most down to Earth girlie. I traveled all the way from Mexico to find my furever throne... er, home. At just 2 years old and 40 pounds, I'm a sweet, affectionate hound mix who believes every human deserves royal treatment. Whether it's with my happy little march, full-body wiggles, or tongue-out smiles, I'm here to brighten your days like the queen I am.

I'm a quiet, gentle soul who truly just wants to be near my people. I don't bark much, and I'm fully potty trained and crate trained. When I get sleepy at night, I'll tuck myself right into my bed. I don't have much interest in toys, but I love learning new tricks (especially if treats are involved) and spending time outside is absolutely my favorite thing. My foster mom says I love the outdoors more than any dog she's ever met—I'd happily run around a yard or go on long walks all day if I could.

I'm the type of pup who follows you from room to room just to be close. You can touch my paws, pick me up, or tug my tail a little and I'll take it all as an invitation to cover you in kisses. I'm very affectionate and patient, so I'd likely do great with gentle kids. Around other dogs, I can be a little unsure—if they get in my face too fast I might let out a soft growl, but I keep my cool if they give me space. With calm, slow introductions, I could get along with the right dog friends. Cats, on the other paw, aren't my thing—I'd prefer a feline-free kingdom.

I don't have separation anxiety, but I do get really excited when you come home and light up when I'm around people. I would do best in a home where someone's around more often than not, or where there's another mellow pup to keep me company. I could thrive in a mellow home with a backyard or with an active family who'll take me on a few good walks a day.

My foster mom says I'm one of the most special and sweet dogs she's ever met—and I'm ready to prove her right. She would foster fail if there weren't cats in the home! If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion to adore you like royalty, I'm your little princess!

My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
