Raisin's Story

Raisin was found as a stray on the streets of Texas. It took this scruffy little guy some time to warm up to the humans. He played coy at first, pretending to want contact then scurrying away like a mouse. His belly got the best of him, though, and tasty treats helped Raisin to form some human friendships Now, he is a very cuddly and affectionate boy. He loves his time spent in the sunroom where there are table scraps and dog friends, and he is perfectly content to receive some back scratches. Raisin has learned that grooming actually feels good, and he has because a model citizen during bath time. For a dog so scared of everything when he first arrived, that is some major progress. After some trial and error, this brave little terrier has mastered the leash, and he now enjoys long walks with the caregivers and volunteers. Raisin has worked hard to overcome his fears and we are very proud of the darling little fellow.

Visit Raisin at www.hua.org!
