Rainy's Story

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Rainy is looking for her forever home!

Rainy is an approximately 49-50 pound female terrier mix. She is approximately 20 months old. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines through December 2024. She is on Symparica for flea and tick prevention.

Despite her past of neglect and abandonment she is full of life and lots of puppy play energy.

She is full of kisses to give and is a sensitive little soul

She likes wrestling with other pups, running as fast as possible both in and out of water! She needs a lot of activity- either a fenced in yard, or many trips to doggie day care where she can play with other young and energetic dogs her age!

She also likes car rides and is always up for an adventure.

Chew toys and treats are high on her favorites list .

She is very smart and loves to learn, even her trainer has said so! She just completed her beginning puppy training and will now continue to intermediate level.

She is not fearful or timid but curious about everything.

She loves everybody but her new owners need to take caution with small children since she wants to be up in their face and kissing them and can be overpowering. This needs to be worked on.

Her foster mom is on the lookout for the right person and or family for her. Her new family will need to understand that she is a young pup and still learning. Her new family needs to really engage with her, spend time with her in activities, provide consistent exercise, play and time with other doggies her age.

She has some anxiety from her past, but she is becoming her confident sassy self more and more every day. Because of her history of prior neglect, she needs a lot of attention and love.

She is house trained though if she gets really anxious, she can do that "anxious" submissive peeing. This is not a housetraining issue and one that usually resolves as dogs gain confidence. Her foster mom has found a regular routine of getting her out for potty breaks solves the issue.

She is crate trained. Unfortunately, her former owner had kept her in a crate all day and all night seldom if ever letting her out. Surprisingly, she is not averse to the crate and sometimes it calms her down.

Adoption donation $100.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.

HOW TO APPLY:
1. Go to www.lppnc.org
2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page.
3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page.
