We’ll have several dogs there looking for homes!<br/><br/>———————<br/><br/>Meet Rains! This happy, wiggly boy is bursting with personality and has a smile that can brighten even the cloudiest day. He’s the kind of dog who makes everyone he meets fall in love instantly — one look into his sweet eyes and you’ll be hooked! <br/><br/>Rains absolutely adores being around people. He’s super affectionate and loves nothing more than being next to you, soaking up all the pets and scratches he can get. He’ll lean into you for cuddles and flash his adorable grin like he knows exactly how to melt your heart. <br/><br/>He also has a silly, playful side that keeps everyone laughing! Rains loves to romp around, play with his toys, and hang out with his doggie friends. He’s friendly with other dogs and would love a playmate to share in the fun. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a walk around the block, or just lounging in the sun, he’s happy as long as he’s with his people. <br/><br/>Rains is still working on his leash manners — he gets very excited to go exploring, so he can be a bit of a puller — but he’s a smart boy and eager to please, so he’ll pick it up in no time with a little consistency and love.<br/><br/>Rains is a 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix and weighs 56 lbs. <br/><br/>Sadly, Rains tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Rains will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, loyal best friend who will make every day brighter, Rains is your guy! <br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives?
