This happy, wiggly boy with a big personality and the sweetest smile. He absolutely adores people, lives for cuddles, and leans in close for pets like he knows that’s where he belongs. He’s playful, goofy, and loves toys and doggie friends just as much as he loves being by your side. <br/><br/>He’s also crate trained and potty trained, making him an even easier addition to a home. He’s still learning his leash manners (he’s just that excited about life), but he’s smart, eager to please, and ready to learn with a little love and patience.<br/><br/>Rains has so much love to give and he's just waiting for his new family!<br/><br/>Rains is a 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix and weighs 56 lbs. <br/><br/>Sadly, Rains tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Rains will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, loyal best friend who will make every day brighter, Rains is your guy! <br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives?
