Rachel 's Story

Meet Rachel!

This beautiful, smiley girl has been waiting far too long to find her forever home and would love nothing more than a family of her own. Rachel is approximately 6–6½ months old and currently weighs around 45 pounds. We do not anticipate her getting much bigger and expect she will likely remain under 60 pounds when fully grown. While we cannot confirm her breed without a DNA test, she appears to be a Pit Bull–type mix. Please do not let outdated stereotypes stand in her way — bully breeds are known for their loyalty, affection, and loving personalities, and Rachel is no exception.

We do not know much about her early life, but she was found as a stray roaming the streets of Texas and has been growing up in a shelter environment since early January. She would love nothing more than to experience the comfort and stability of a real home. Despite her uncertain start, Rachel’s curiosity, eagerness to learn, and sweet spirit shine through every single day.

Like most young dogs, she is still figuring out the world around her. She is working on the basics such as house training, leash manners, and polite greetings, so her future family should be prepared for typical puppy antics and the consistency that comes with raising a young dog. With patience, structure, and ongoing training, Rachel will blossom into a devoted and well-mannered companion.

Rachel has done wonderfully when interacting with other dogs and would likely make a great canine companion. She has not been tested around cats, so a cat-free home may be best. The shelter notes that she has had limited exposure to children, so we believe she would do best in a home with kids who understand how to respectfully interact with dogs, especially an energetic puppy who is still learning. Slow and monitored introductions are always recommended.

Rachel would thrive with a family that can provide structure, patience, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her zoomies and exploration, but her size and adaptability could also make her a potential fit for apartment or condo living, provided she receives consistent exercise and stimulation.

The shelter Rachel is currently in is severely overcrowded, and without a confirmed adopter, dogs like her face uncertain futures. She is ready for someone to see her potential and give her the life she deserves.

Health:
Rachel is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. She is still too young for heartworm testing but is otherwise healthy, playful, and ready to join her forever family.

Important Information:
All of our dogs, including Rachel, are currently located in Texas and will be transported to adopters once their adoption is finalized. Transportation is included in the adoption fee. Please note that potential adopters will not be able to meet her in person prior to committing to adoption, as transport occurs after finalization.

MA License #479
