Queenie's Story
Queenie
Queenie is a 2 year old Schnauzer-mix female. She was surrendered to TCAS where TAAG members found her and moved her to a loving foster home. She was so timid when we first pulled her that she would sink into the ground when approached. She would not walk on a lead unless coerced with treats (but that was still only a crawl) and had to be carried from place to place.
Her foster named her Queenie because she deserved to be treated like royalty! Now she is a happy, fun loving dog. She runs with the other dogs, barks and plays. The first time she barked at her foster’s home she cowered and looked at her foster as if she were going to get hit. Her foster said “Go for it girl.” Well, she barked again a little louder then threw her head back and let out a joyful howl. Now she feels free to bark, howl and play like the other dogs do. She also has found the joy of playing with toys. She is still in the process of getting used to the leash, but little by little she is coming around. She is a fine young lady and will make someone a wonderful companion.
