Queenie's Story

Meet Queenie!

Attention, dog lovers! Meet Queenie — an affectionate, wiggly mama who would love nothing more than to become the Queen of your heart.

Queenie is a 4-year-old mixed-breed girl with gorgeous brindle coloring and deep, soulful eyes you could get lost in. She is sweet, easygoing, and incredibly affectionate. Her favorite things are giving kisses, getting pets and cuddles, and being as close to her people as possible. If you're looking for a dog who would happily be your lap dog, Queenie may be your girl!

She hasn't been in our care for very long, but everything we've learned about her so far has made us love her — and we think you will, too!

A Little About Queenie

Commands:
Queenie knows her basic commands, including sit, lay down, and stay (although, like any dog, she sometimes decides whether she feels like listening!).

Leash Manners:
Queenie is a lovely walking companion. She walks beautifully on leash and generally doesn't pull. She is alert and curious about her surroundings and will notice people, dogs, and other activity around her, but she does not bark or make a fuss.

People, Kids & Dogs:
Queenie is a very loving girl who eagerly greets the neighbors she meets. She has barked when someone approaches the house, but she settles quickly and becomes her sweet, affectionate self once she receives some attention. We haven't yet had the opportunity for one-on-one introductions with children or other dogs. She is aware of a resident dog in her foster home and has shown no issues, although they are currently being kept separate as a medical precaution.

Queenie LOVES:
Giving kisses, getting pets and cuddles, and being close to her people. She would happily soak up all the affection you're willing to give!

Potty Training:
Queenie appears to be mostly house-trained and understands that potty time happens outside. We keep a pee pad available for emergencies, and she knows how to use it. Her foster family takes her out regularly throughout the day, including first thing in the morning, before bed, a few times in between, and before and after being left alone.

Crating & Gating:
Queenie is currently gated in the dining room and kitchen area, where she can be part of all the household action. She has both a cozy crate and a bed under the table, and she happily uses both.

What We're Working On

Queenie is still settling into her foster home, but she is picking up on potty training quickly!

Queenie was recently a devoted mama to two beautiful puppies, Ladybug and Honeybee, so her body is still recovering from motherhood. Her foster family is giving her plenty of love, care, and patience as she gets back to feeling her best.

Queenie's Story

Queenie has already been through more than any dog should have to endure. She was found after giving birth to her puppies behind a dumpster in Brooklyn. Despite everything she has experienced, she remains sweet, affectionate, and eager to love the people around her.

Now, it's Queenie's turn to be cared for.

She deserves a family who will show her just how wonderful life can be — and in return, she'll give you love, kisses, cuddles, and loyalty tenfold.

If you think Queenie might be your girl, apply for adoption and come meet her. We have a feeling she may just steal your heart.
