Puppy Princess's Story
Puppy Princess

Age: 5 years
Weight: 27kg/60lbs
Height: 23 inches
Housetrained: Yes
Dog friendly: Yes
Cat friendly: Yes
Kid friendly: Likely but untested

Hello friends, I’m Puppy Princess!

The first thing you might notice about me is that I’m a tripod. I came to New Hope Dog Rescue with an injured and very sore front leg, and the best thing for me was to have it removed. Although I have limited mobility, I’m recovering well and learning to get around just fine. Every day I walk a little further and can even jump up on the couch and get into the car on my own now.

Speaking of the couch, I love everything about being an inside dog. I enjoy nothing more than snoozing in my big fluffy dog bed, lying in a sunbeam, eating tasty meals, and getting treats for being cute. I’m so happy when potty time is over, and I get to run back into the cool and comfortable house. I would make a great condo or apartment dog (as long as there is an elevator). I’m low energy and very quiet; I rarely bark, I don’t chew, and I don’t countersurf for snacks. My foster mom takes me on slow walks down the block 3-4x a day to see the world and lick grass but overall, I prefer to stay close to home.

I love my foster mom very much, but I’m still a little shy around the tall man who lives with her. I’m getting braver and more interested in people every day. When I’m nervous, I want to run away and hide. But even when I was in a lot of pain and terrified, I was sweet and gentle. My new family will need to be patient and loving as I get used to the people, smells, and sounds of my new home.

My perfect forever home would:
- Have minimal stairs or baby gates installed (I can run up the few stairs to the front door, but it’s not safe for me to venture to the basement or do too many stairs multiple times a day).
- Be dedicated to keeping me slim and enriched despite my preference to stay inside, lounge around, and eat treats.

Currently, I live with a high-energy husky and a grouchy cat. I like them both! We don’t play or cuddle, but simply enjoy the day together.

Adoption fee is $295. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and fully vaccinated.
