Pup-Cup 51423's Story
Meet Pup Cup — a playful, affectionate pup whose whole world revolves around making friends and doing his best.

Pup Cup’s favorite activity is trying (very earnestly!) to get other dogs to play with him. Even when they’re not interested, he keeps trying with hope in his eyes and a wag in his tail. He’d much rather have a small yard with a dog buddy than a big yard all to himself, and truly thrives when he has another dog to follow, learn from, and play with. If you’re looking for a built-in playmate for your social pup, Pup Cup might be the perfect match.

He’s playful, sweet, eager to please, and very praise-motivated—a “good boy” goes a long way with this guy. He has medium-high energy and loves running around a yard, especially when another dog is involved. While long solo hikes aren’t his thing, he walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys neighborhood strolls where he can politely stop and wait, fully expecting every person and dog to greet him (he’s always surprised when they don’t!).

Pup Cup is very cuddly and loves being close to his people. He wants to do the right thing so badly that he sometimes gets a little stressed if he thinks he’s messed up. When excited or overwhelmed, he can be jumpy and a bit nippy, but this has already been improving a lot in foster care and will continue to get better with patience, structure, and positive reinforcement.

He’s mostly house trained, though he doesn’t yet have a clear signal to go outside and currently relies on following other dogs out. In a home without another dog, he may need a little extra guidance and consistency. He’s new to crate training but is doing well—he’ll happily go in for treats and prefers his crate uncovered. The only resource guarding seen so far has been around the bed, which is being managed and improving with structure.

Pup Cup does well with other dogs, has not been around children, and would love to chase cats or geese—but listens well when told “no.” He’s also very afraid of water hoses or spraying water, though he tolerates baths just fine when water is poured gently.

Overall, Pup Cup is a really nice dog with a big heart. He’s sensitive, loving, and happiest when he has another dog by his side. If you’re looking for a companion for your playful pup—and a loyal, snuggly shadow for yourself—Pup Cup is ready to fill that role!
