**I am fee-waived for the month of August for Clear the Shelters!**<br/><br/>For more than 200 days, Puma has watched other dogs leave the shelter while he patiently waits for someone to choose him. We think it's about time his story changes. <br/>Puma us a sweet, goofy guy who loves long walks, toys, tasty treats, and most of all, being with his people. After spending time in both an office and a foster home, we've learned that he settles into a routine beautifully. He sleeps through the night on his own bed, has had no accidents in the home or office, and has done well being left alone for several hours. He's playful when it's time to have fun but also understands when his person is busy and is happy to relax nearby. <br/>Puma is a smart boy who knows his name, knows "sit", and pays close attention to his person's tone and body language. He can be a strong walker when something exciting catches his eye, especially a squirrel or rabbit, but responds well to redirection. Puma would do best in an adult-only home without children, where he can enjoy a quieter routine with his people. He'd also prefer to skip the dog-park scene and enjoys life with his humans instead. <br/>One thing to know about Puma is that he has a sensitive stomach. He's currently doing well on a special diet and smaller, spaced-out meals, and his future family should plan to work with their veterinarian on the best long-term nutrition for him. <br/>Puma comes to us as a stray, so we may not know much about his past, but after more than 200 days, we know quite a bit about who he is now: affectionate, playful, seems to be house-trained, adaptable, and very ready to belong to someone. <br/> Puma has waited long enough to trade his kennel for a couch.
