Pulque's Story

Meet Pulque!

Pulque is a lovable three-legged (tripod) pup whose disability does not slow him down one bit. He is full of energy, personality, and affection, and once he trusts you, he becomes an incredibly cuddly and loving companion who absolutely adores pets and snuggles. Pulque is crate trained and currently working on his potty training. He already knows basic commands such as sit, stay, and wait, and he does very well in the car.

Despite only having three legs, he loves to run and play and would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard where he can safely burn off energy chasing squirrels and chipmunks - one of his favorite activities! Pulque can initially be timid and unsure around new people and unfamiliar situations. He may bark when first meeting someone, when excited, during play, or when someone comes to the door, but he warms up quickly once he feels safe. He is truly a sensitive soul who needs patience and understanding while he learns the world is not so scary. Its important to let Pulque approach you on his own terms and build trust at his pace.

Pulque has not been tested with cats and is fearful of other dogs, so he would likely do best as the only pet in the home. Older children would be best for him due to his sensitivity and need for a calm environment. Because he is a tripod, a home with limited stairs would also be ideal. Pulques perfect family will understand that while he may need time to adjust, the reward is a sweet, goofy, affectionate dog with a huge heart and an adorable personality. Once you become his people, he will love you endlessly.

Background: Pulque was attacked by another dog and suffered an injury to one of his legs. He was brought to the vet and unfortunately was not able to recover from the incident. Due to this injury, he underwent amputation surgery. Now a tripod and it does not slow him down at all.

Location: Rockwood, ON

Weight: 37.5 pounds

Age: 3 years old

Please visit our website www.fullcirclerescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see our other available dogs.
