Pulque's Story

Meet Pulque!

Pulque may only have three legs, but don't tell him thathe's far too busy running, playing, and living life to the fullest.

At 3 years old and 35 pounds, Pulque is a resilient, affectionate boy with a playful spirit and a heart overflowing with love. His journey hasn't always been easy, but today he's proof that resilience comes in all shapes and sizes. Once you earn his trust, you'll discover a goofy, cuddly companion who believes there's no such thing as too many belly rubs, pets, or snuggles.

Pulque is house-trained, rides beautifully in the car, and already knows several basic commands, including sit, stay, and wait. He's an intelligent boy who enjoys having structure and thrives when he's given patience, encouragement, and consistency.

Although Pulque is missing a leg, it certainly doesn't slow him down. He loves to zoom around the yard, stretch his legs, and keep a close eye on the local squirrels and chipmunks - his self-appointed backyard "security patrol." A securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and burn off energy would be a dream come true.

Like many dogs who have experienced hardship, Pulque can be cautious when meeting new people or facing unfamiliar situations. He may bark when someone first arrives, during playtime, or when excitement gets the better of him, but beneath that initial uncertainty is a sweet, sensitive dog simply looking for reassurance. He's happiest when new people allow him to approach on his own terms, giving him the time he needs to build trust. Once you're part of his circle, his loyal, affectionate personality shines through.

Pulque has not been tested with cats and is timid around other dogs, so he would likely be happiest as the only pet in his new home. Because he appreciates a quieter environment, older, respectful children would be the best fit. As a tripod, a home with minimal stairs would also help keep him comfortable as he continues enjoying all of life's adventures.

Pulque's story began with heartbreak. After being attacked by another dog, his injured leg could not be saved, and amputation became the best path forward. But rather than letting that define him, Pulque has embraced life with incredible determination. He doesn't dwell on what he lost - he simply wakes up each day ready for his next adventure.

Pulque is looking for a family that will see past his initial shyness and recognize the incredible dog waiting beneath the surface. If you can offer him patience, kindness, and a safe place to land, he'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifetime of unconditional love. His missing leg is just one small part of his story - his heart is what truly makes him extraordinary.

Location: Rockwood, ON
Age: 3 years
Weight: 35 pounds
Please visit our website www.fullcirclerescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see our other available dogs.
