Priya's Story
Approximate Age: 4 years
Approximate Weight: 27 lbs

- Priya was rescued from a large-scale hoarding situation where she lived outdoors with minimal human contact, inadequate shelter, and limited access to food and clean water.
- She is a gentle, shy girl who is slowly learning that the world can be a safe and loving place.
- She will need a patient understanding family who will give her time to decompress.
- Once she starts trusting you, she'll show her sweet and affectionate side.
- Her crate is her safe place and she keeps it clean.
- She walks well on a leash but needs reassurance and time to get familiar with the routine. A chain leash is a must as she will quickly chew thru a regular leash when scared.
- She is good with other dogs and would benefit from having a confident, friendly dog companion to help show her the ropes and provide reassurance as she continues to build confidence and trust in humanity.
- Priya enjoys the outdoors and exploring but will need a securely enclosed space for now, as she's still learning to trust and may be eager to venture off on her own adventures.
- Priya is looking for a calm, understanding home that will give her the time she needs to settle in and feel safe. In return, she'll reward you with quiet loyalty and a truly special bond.

Schedule a meet-and-greet by completing our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey.

Join our Foster program and become a hero!
