Princess (aka Large Marge!)'s Story

She was somebody’s princess, but not really treated like one. This old girl was mostly kept chained to a doghouse until her owner went to a nursing home. A kind neighbor stepped up for Princess and kept her safe until she had secured a place at the shelter. With her nose to the new ground under her paws she will often flash a smile at you, Princess has been an excellent guest once released from her crate after her long journey. Agreeable around all the new people, even while being endlessly barked at by her new kennel mates, Princess has kept her cool. Despite her matronly figure and frosted muzzle, her nice teeth belie her age.

Dubbed Large Marge by her foster mom, the portly princess has been paraded around at various offsite events and is available for an interview every weekend. Confirmed housebroken, she has not bothered the two cats in her temporary foster home.

Senior dogs make great pets for senior people. Less active, more chill, and usually housebroken. And they shouldn’t have to lose their homes and families due to the poor planning and lack of forethought that resulted in them outliving their owners.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
