Meet Pretty Pittie Prince! <br/><br/>Prince is a 41⁄2-year-old bundle of boxer wiggles in a pittie package. He doesn't need a palace, just a soft blanket, a sunny spot, and a person to call his own.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Prince's story:<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I came to Cross Your Paws from a place that was no kind of home for an animal. I spent my first year with a foster mom who took a chance on me when I needed someone most. She taught me things I hadn't known before: hands could be gentle, food could be counted on, and people could be kind.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Next, I moved to a foster home where I could get more structure and practice out in the world. My new foster mom was surprised by how quickly I settled into city life. Traffic, sirens, bikes, and people on the sidewalk hardly faze me.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>At home, I'm an easy companion. I'm housebroken and trusted to roam free without a crate. I enjoy a long walk, but I'm also content with a quiet day at home, preferably in a patch of sunshine. Leave out a blanket, and I'll find my way underneath it.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I get the occasional zoomies, love a good game of tug, and have yet to meet a puzzle toy I couldn't outsmart.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I'm working with Nick, head trainer at Cross Your Paws, on a few skills nobody taught me when I was younger. I can get loud and overexcited when other dogs come close, but I'm learning to keep my cool. I'll need an adopter willing to continue my training and help me feel more confident. I've lived with another dog before and could again after a thoughtful introduction, especially with a playful, tolerant dog whose energy matches mine.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I'm also still learning that I'm safe. I don't like having things taken from my mouth or being pushed aside once I've settled. When play gets too exciting, I may nip at loose clothing because I'm still figuring out how to bring the fun down a notch. My foster mom trades instead of grabbing, gives me space when I've had enough, and notices when I'm nearing my limit. The good news is that with each passing week, I'm becoming more relaxed, more trusting, and better at handling those moments.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>My experience with children and cats is limited, though older, dog-savvy kids may be the best fit.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>I had every reason to give up on people, and I didn't.
