Prime's Story

Prime is a neutered male Pitbull mix weighing 50 lbs. and is around 2 years old. He is here at the shelter because he was abandoned by his owner.

Like all the dogs here at the shelter, Prime was in someone’s home and had already been taught several basic commands. He will do a nice sit, down, stay, and takes treats from your hand gently. I also believe he has had some house training. He has been quick to take care of his business soon after getting outside and onto the grass. It will just be a matter of being patient with him until he adjusts to a new home and the lay of the land. He is a smart dog and will learn quickly.

Prime can be strong on a leash, and a harness will be helpful until he learns what is expected from him when out walking. Both a leash and harness and leash will be provided to you at the time of adoption.

Please watch a video of Prime on Petfinder to get a good look at him off leash and enjoying his time in our exercise yard. See for yourself what a handsome boy he is. ? I would describe his energy level as medium to high. He is still a very young dog and is going to need exercise and mental stimulation to keep both you and him happy. I found that after Prime had an opportunity to burn off some pent-up energy from being in his kennel all the time, he was happy to spend time letting me give him the attention and love he needed and showed me the affectionate side of him.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home, there will be a meet & greet at the shelter.

We have a lot of Pitbull mixes here at the shelter and none of them are the same. Prime is not the same. He is a good dog waiting for that person to come along and teach him how to be the best he can be. In return, that person is going to get a lifetime of loyalty and love from Prime. Are you the person he has been waiting for?
