Prickly Pete's Story

He is prickin' awesome! Hi friends! I am Prickly Pete and yes I am the IG famous guy who was rescued from a canyon full of cacti and thorns and prickly pears. A person reported a scumbag(my ex owner) dumping me and TAP rescued me! I am a 2 years old, big boy at 72 lbs, fixed Terrier mix male. I am fully bathroom, crate and leash trained. all of scruffy me is excited to go to my furever family! I am an easy-going, goofy boy who loves his people. I trust and bon deeply with the people who live with me. I do great with other dogs, havent met kitties yet, and I would say no to kiddos. I prefer us adults together. I am a hiker guy and love workouts! I am mellow at home and very relaxed. I do have stranger danger with alert barking and just need management around new folks. I have no problem being alone, and just settle in. I would love a family where we can go on fun adventures, hikes and then have a cuddly TV party. I would need an adults only home with stranger supervision and no kids around me. I'd be fine with or without dogs. The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
