Pork Chop's Story

OMG pump the brakes!!! If you are looking for a great dog, hung up the search and message us TODAY!!!

Meet Pork Chop. Yes you heard me right Pork Chop- we named him this because he was scheduled to be euthanized because his front leg needed surgical attention. Amputation was not an option because he has pellets in his other leg from being shot! The lady who found this dog as an injured stray could not afford the surgery needed and authorized him to be put to sleep. I happened to call this lady back the same day following up on her call she had placed the day before to BARK. At this point, she told me it was too late, she had authorized him to be euthanized. I immediately called the vet clinic and luckily the vet was at lunch so he had NOT put him to sleep yet!!!!! Talk about saved by the bell!!!! So we joked and said a Pork Chop saved his life!!!!!!

This boy is one of the bravest dogs I have ever met during my time in rescue. He is only about two years old and had such a hard life already but here's the thing.... you would not even know this was the case!!!! He is so sweet. He is amazing with every single dog he has ever met- he has been great with my kids when they are at bark, he has never met a stranger but he DOES NOT Like cats.

BARK fundraised and got his leg all fixed up! He was soooooo brave and the doctor even commented about how great of a patient he was during it all!!!! He had a cast on his leg for 6 weeks and now he is a REAL boy!!!! He is pain free and can do all the things other dogs can do. He does have a plate in his leg so there is a chance he might develop arthritis in his leg earlier than normal but this is a risk with any larger breed dog.

If you think Pork Chop would be your best buddy, don't wait!!! Email us today at LongJ1003@aol.com to learn how he can become your best friend!
