POPTART*'s Story

Poptarts aren’t just for breakfast anymore! Nope, this Poptart is much more versatile (though he will be happy to share your breakfast if you’re willing). This Poptart is ready to be your new best friend at any time of day, for any meal, and for forever!! Poptart spent some time in a foster home where we learned that he is a quiet houseguest, likes to sleep near his people at night, and is housebroken. He loves balls and playing fetch and takes good care of his soft toys (no spontaneous combustion here!). Poptart’s foster said that he loves to be right by your side and is very mellow. Here's what volunteers at the shelter have said: “Poptart quickly settled into a brisk walk around the lake. He noticed other dogs but didn’t seem very interested. He sat for treats and is pretty good catching them midair, and he likes pets and affection.” “This was my first time walking Poptart and he was a DREAM on leash. Perfect loose-leash walker and he checked in regularly. I stopped at a picnic table, and he jumped up on the bench for some scritches, then eventually laid down. Poptart really is a sweet, mushy boy who needs to be seen out of his kennel to appreciate what a good boy he is.” “Poptart was easy to leash and once outside he was relaxed and ready for a nice walk. Poptart was a great walking buddy, loose leash with a nice steady pace next to me. He went potty and did lots of sniffing. He took treats nicely and gave me some very sweet kisses.” Poptart has been social and appropriate when meeting other similarly sized dogs in playgroup. He’s looking for a home without small dogs or other small pets and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Poptart is medical for Valley Fever and is seeking an adopter to provide him with twice daily medications and bi-annual check ups for his management. Ask to meet Poptart today!
