Pops's Story

Say Hello to Pops! Pops is 5-years-old and originally came to us as a puppy through our largest Humane Investigations case in Animal Friends history - the Ross Dog Rescue also know as our "C Dog Rescue", from a home of 117 other dogs! Yes, you read that correctly - 117 other dogs! Pops was adopted into a loving home where she remained for many years but returned to us after her previous owner passed away and she wasn't adjusting well to living with extended family.

Because of her background, she is a very special and pretty little lady who is looking for a very special, understanding home with only adult friends. Once you're her friend - she'll show you her special tippy tap toes and get wiggly with excitement. She loves pets but can be wary of new people so she may require multiple meet and greets so you can become one of her friends! Pops would prefer to be the only pup in your home and is not interested in living with cats. Are you interested in this beautiful pup?

Pops is a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for three weeks, our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and Pops on her behavior and positive reinforcement training to facilitate a gentle transition into her new home. She is the perfect example of our mission: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals.

Pops is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds where they may need a little extra care, extra attention, and extra patience. To help Pops find her adoptive home, a generous donor has sponsored her adoption donation to help her feel extra loved!

Fill out an application -> thinkingoutsidethecage.org
All of our animals are altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines before being made available for adoption.

Animal Friends Inc,
562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh PA 15237
PA Dog Kennel#: 1042

Potential adopters start by exploring available pets online or in person, then complete an application and meet with staff to discuss lifestyle, preferences, and the needs of the pet. Once a good match is identified, adopters may have a meet-and-greet, and finally, complete the adoption with guidance on care, medical history, and resources for a successful transition home.
