Poppy

Poppy aka Pops is a 7 year old chihuahua mix weighing 8lbs. Pops came to us a little over a year ago and has been working hard to find his forever family. Pops is tiny but mighty! He loves to do all the big boi stuff likes walks, short hikes and "ruff" play. His favorite game to play with the human kiddo in his foster home is "boxing" and "where's Poppy?" Boxing consists of one of his favorite toys getting tossed back and forth so he can bork and smack at the toy as it flies by. Where's Poppy is only played on laundry day and it is his FAVORITE activity. Either blankets or clothes get put on top of him and he has a blast romping and rolling in the pile while his humans search for him. Pops is house trained up to 6 hours a day which is the usual amount of time his foster family is away but has a kennel set up for him as well that he eats and sleeps in on occasion. Unlike most of his kind, Pops is not big on barking unless he's excited or ready to play but he does whine often to express various needs such as potty time or dinner time. Pops has his sits command down about half the time and knows "outside" and "go to bed". Pops has some skin dryness and allergies that are treated with over the counter allergy medication and weekly baths with his special shampoo as well as a corn/wheat/gluten/poultry free diet. He has been acclimating well to eating what is offered and can be tricked most nights with a little hot water mixed in his kibbles but on occasion, he demands a scoop of wet food mixed in as well. He takes his allergy meds in cheese or pill pockets and rarely puts up a fight over taking his meds. Pops is not a fan of medium to large doggos that do not respect his space, but would thrive with another little friend in his forever home. He has been cat tested and although they scare him sometimes, he shares his space with them without concern. He is a tiny guy so it is recommended he shares his forever home with older, gentle children. He adores his foster human kiddos and will seek them out for both play time and couch snuggles. His only flaw is his drama King status. Pops can have a bit of a dramatic flare for his nail trims or vet visits but is easily subdued with a lil snack. Pops is such a fun lil character to have around the house and will bring so much laughter and smiles to his new family. He would be happiest boi and adaptable to any home that allows him all the blankets to burrow into and won't mind a lil buddy tagging along on some walks or adventures.<br/><br/>Poppy is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $275, with an additional $21 for PACC licence.
